Hello Kindergarten!!!

It's official! Taya is now a Kindergartener! Friday, August 22nd we went to Kindergarten Orientation which was super stressful! The night before Taya was nervous and hardly slept, which means I hardly slept and Jeremy was out of town all week. During the Orientation I wanted to just run out of there with Taya in my arms and take her back to her preschool and wait another year...or 10 before she started Kindergarten! I just wasn't ready for her to grow up so fast yet. I am amazed at how much they learn in Kindergarten and realize it's not just painting and games and play time anymore, it's serious stuff! They are reading, writing, learning, learning, learning and only have 20 minutes to burn some energy with outside play. So we had the whole weekend to recuperate from the Orientation and Taya was getting really excited for her first day, which made me more excited about it too. We woke up, had a good breakfast, walked Taya to school and Jeremy got to meet her teacher, Mrs. Lamb and see her classroom, and that was it....our daughter was officially a Kindergartener! We had to walk back home without her! I found myself with plenty to do at home but none of it was getting done, I was wandering around the house waiting for it to be time to pick her up! I drove over 20 minutes early in hopes of spying on her on the playground! And YES they were out there, I got to see her playing on the playground where she will make new friends and lifelong memories. And saw that she was OK! When I picked her up she said she saw the car parked in the parking lot...guess I wasn't so sneaky was I!?!? She enjoyed her day, said she didn't make any new friends, but I know the day will come when she will be friends with each and every kid in class no matter who they are because that's just her. We are very excited about this year and all the new and exciting things that we will encounter. I am looking forward to volunteering in her classroom as much as possible...so anyone who'd like to volunteer to babysit Saree during that time is more than welcome to!!! hint hint! Some exciting things coming up are Pizza Fundraiser ice cream party, school pictures, birthdays!!, birthday parties and in October Taya starts soccer! Gooooo Bobcats!
