She's Baaaaack!

I am so very happy to report that Miss Taya is back to her normal self again!!! We had an appointment with her asthma specialist today and it went really well! Last week her air flow meter test-thingy ma-jig was 68% today it was 112%, which he said was awesome and that she made a dramatic improvement from last Friday to today. She no longer has an ear infection, no longer has to take prednisone, either! Yay!!! Right now she is going to continue her Advair twice a day, and hopefully wont have a relapse. He will see us back June 23rd for a back-scratch allergy test. He said that will determine 1) whether her asthma attack was allergy induced or from a viral infection (which I think was the cause, but what do I know); 2) what exactly she is allergic to if anything; 3) if she is allergic to something depending on what it is could be the cause of all her billions of her infections. Our June 23rd appointment he will also be able to see how she's doing on just the Advair alone, along with using her peak flow meter to determine her normal and help determine the severity of her asthma, because at this point we don't know. Like the Doctor said, we know that it got bad enough for her to end up in the hospital for 3 days! True! I asked for a written emergency plan which is a must with asthma and was told to start the nebulizer at the first immediate sign of difficulty breathing and call me. I said but no, I need to know what to do if it's the middle of the night and she's having trouble. I loved his answer...."Call me, that's what I am here for". I take great comfort in knowing that if she does have another episode I have the machine and medicine to help her but also a real life Doctor on the phone, and not just any Doctor, but HER Doctor! So things seem to be improving around here, I am still always asking her, "can you breath, are you OK" and I'm sure she's tired of that! This week was her first week back to school, she has her inhaler there if she needs it, she knows to ask for it if she feels an "elephant on her chest", and she is very happy to be back to our normal routine! Thanks again to all of you, we love each and every one of you!
